America's Cup World Series

Last weekend we all drove up to Newport, RI to see the America's World Cup World Series. They were racing right off the land, and Dave really wanted to go see it up close. Sophie and I hung out in the town and visited the racing a few times.

All of the boats.

On the Ferry out to the island where the racing was.

There was a band playing and Sophie took full advantage by dancing her heart out. You can see her in action here.

Ocean City Vacation

This past week my family did their annual week in Ocean City, NJ. Soph was there for most of the week, and I visited a few times throughout.

Big News!

We are very excited to announce that we are expecting baby #2 in December! My due date is December 27th (for which I'm sure this child will forever resent us). I'm feeling good and just starting to show. Here are a few pics from our 12 week appointment. The 16 week appointment will be next week, and there's a chance we'll find out the sex. We're all very excited, especially Sophie who has been carrying around her toys calling them her new little baby (we'll see if she's so gentle with the real thing).

Pictures from School

It's hard to believe, but the school year has almost come to an end! Next week will be the last week of regular school for Sophie, then she heads to Virginia for a week with Nana and PapPap and then she'll begin the summer program. Here are a few shots that her teachers took from the last month at Greene Towne School.
The primary school recently hatched some chicks and the toddlers got to go up and visit with them. Here's Sophie looking in with Rachel.

Music circle time. At our last parent/teacher conference they told us that music circle is her favorite activity all week and that she's actually made up her own dance moves. I think we've seen a few of them at home.

Sesame Place

On Memorial Day Erin and I took Sophie & Vivian to Sesame Place. It was the first time any of us were there. Despite the scorching hot weather, it was a lot of fun.

Our favorite ride was the teacups (which I think was my favorite ride as a kid too). We got spinning really fast and the girls loved it.
Sophie's love of trampolines was found on this enormous bouncer. She had a blast, but unfortunately wasn't allowed to stay in there for too long. We'll have to get a small trampoline for our house sometime soon.

Not realizing that it was also a water park, I didn't bring a bathing suit, but it didn't stop Sophie from jumping in in her clothes (yes, she was that kid). Luckily I did bring a change of clothes. Vivan of course was looking quite the bathing beauty in her suit.

And the only character we got to see was Grover - not Sophie's favorite, but still worth getting together with for a picture.

First Sleepover!

Sophie had her first sleepover last week with her friend Claire. Chris & Amy, Claire's parents, were at the hospital welcoming their second daughter, Emma, and we took Claire for the night. Considering they're two, things went very well and we actually got a good night's sleep (amazingly enough).

At first the girls both wanted to sleep in Sophie's bed, but we didn't think there would be enough room...
So we brought in the blow-up mattress so that they could both sleep together...
But it quickly turned into this... so in the end Claire slept on the blow-up mattress, and Sophie slept in her bed.

Big Girl Bed!

We made the move to a big girl bed! Although she never really tried to get out of her crib, we thought it was time to make the switch. Why the rather ghetto set up you ask? Well, thinking we were prepared, we were in fact not, and didn't have a crib railing. So Dave jerry rigged the side of the crib for the first few nights. She didn't seem to mind though. She was just proud to be sleeping in a big girl bed!
Not to worry. We now have a proper toddler bed railing.
